Dr. Karen Emerson
Practice Owner Dr. Karen Emerson is a 2006 graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She resides in West Point with her husband Terry and two daughters, Haley age 7 and Lilly Kate age 4. Her other family members are Bart, a double yellow headed Amazon parrot she has had since she was eleven years old. Dopey a dumbo rat, Snowball a guinea pig, Lilly a Latino cockatiel, Bella a Labrador Retriever. Marvin a Great Pyrenees, Ginger a Welch pony, and a herd of cattle: each one spoiled rotten. She specializes in exotics and trained with Dr. Tom Tully at LSU. Her hobbies are audio books, singing in the choir at church, horseback riding and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Amanda Gettinger graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 followed by completing a rotational internship in equine medicine and surgery at MSUCVM. Dr Gettinger started her own equine ambulatory practice, Alis Aquilae Veterinary Service, LLC in October 2014 that services the Golden Triangle area when she is not working at Emerson Animal Hospital. Her hobbies include writing, cooking, chilling with her fur-babies (2 huskies, 1 cat who thinks he is a dog, and a Quarter Horse who also thinks he is a dog), staying involved in church activities, and most of all loving Jesus.
