This week’s segment features Lucy the 8-year-old terrier mix!! 👃Lucy came to us for having a persistent runny nose and nasal congestion for several months. After a few rounds of testing and different medication trials, we were still unsuccessful in clearing up her issues. Thankfully, here at Emerson Animal Hospital, we have a nasal scope which allows us to place a small camera up into her nasal passages to look for any inciting causes. Thankfully for Lucy, she did not have any masses or tumors and during the scope, we were able to take samples of her nasal passages. From those samples, we were able to diagnose Lucy with eosinophilic rhinitis which is a result of severe allergies. With this diagnosis,s we were able to get Lucy on the right medications and thanks to Dr. Emerson she has since started to clear up on her nasal drainage and is feeling much better!! 🐾
