Last week’s segment features Thumper and Snowball the 6 month old rabbits. Thumper came in to us in a bit of a predicament after he and Snowball got into a fight. Unfortunately, when two intact male rabbits are housed together, they will fight and try to castrate each other, and Thumper ended up on the wrong side of that scuffle. Just as in our dogs and cats, spaying and neutering exotics and pocket pets will help prevent fighting, behavioral issues and prevent pregnancy when males and females are housed together. Here at Emerson Animal Hospital, we frequently anesthetize exotic species and are extremely comfortable with surgical procedures in our smaller patients. For the month of July we are offering 10% exotic spays and neuters and extending our special of 15% off spays and neuters on cats and dogs.
