Librela and Osteoarthritis in Dogs

This week’s segment features Rory the 12 year old lab. 🐾Rory has been seeing us for several months for respiratory disease but her owner noticed that she was starting to have some anxiety and discomfort while on her walks. Unfortunately for Rory, she was starting to experience pain from arthritis. Here at Emerson Animal Hospital we carry a new monthly arthritis injection called Librela. Librela is an anti-nerve growth factor monoclonal antibody that blocks the inflammation that is caused by osteoarthritis. Since starting the Librela injections, Rory has been like a new dog. She is back to wanting to go on her long walks and her mobility has improved significantly. Osteoarthritis is one of the most common conditions that we see in older dogs and can lead to debilitating pain that can significantly decrease your pets quality of life. Thanks to Librela though, Rory is back to her happy active self and is enjoying life again! 🦴
